What’s in a name?

Our name tells you about the things we believe.

First: “Richmond Borough”

We know that we are not the only church in the Richmond Borough, or even the best – we’re not.

We want to be a church that reaches and includes people from every part of the London Borough of Richmond. People from every social and racial background. This is the miracle of Church as God designed it. No other group, club or organisation is so inclusive.

So:

Native to Richmond or new to the area; young, middle-aged or elderly; any social ‘class’; English as your first language or not – the Church has a genuine welcome for you. It’s where you belong.

 Second “Church”

The Bible says:

  • From the beginning of time God has always wanted his own people – people who belong to him, honour him and enjoy him.
  • In the middle of time Jesus Christ, God’s Son, was born as a man to show us clearly what God is like. He then died as a substitute for rebellious humanity. Those who face up to their sin and believe in the now-risen Jesus are forgiven and able to know God as Father. This new family is the Church.
  • At the end of time Jesus will return to summon his Church from all nations to be with him for ever.
  • In the meantime, Jesus has given his Spirit to the Church. What he began to do and teach continues in the Church.
  • All ages, classes and races are invited into this great multinational family.
  • The local church isn’t a building; it isn’t committed to denominational traditions. It’s a sub-section of this supernatural, vibrant, growing family.

We are not interested in “religion” or church-going. We want to belong 24/7 to a Church. Seeing people joining, awed by who God is and what he does.
